I welcome all my students, teachers and parents to the new academic year 2010-11. It gives me great pleasure to see the young girls become the members of Dev Samaj College for Women family and witness their transformation into independent young women, grown intellectually, culturally, aesthetically and spiritually.

Established in 1981, Dev Samaj College for Women, and has since then immensely grown to attain an enviable position in Chandigarh, which speaks volumes about our lasting commitment, exceptional faculty and a rich learning environment. The state-of- the-art laboratories for Music, Computers, Fine Arts, Fashion Designing, Psychology, and Office Management, has taken our students towards enhancing learning experiences and making them outshine their peers, of the local colleges.

The college provides quality education through its diverse range of courses. The college has a well established and fully computerized library which caters to the need of the students and the faculty. It has all standard services already computerized like acquisition, searching and lending and has extensive CD-Database of back volumes and abstracts of leading journals. College campus is supplemented with other facilities like Internet Café, Hygienic Canteen, Multimedia Hall, Gymnasium, Photocopy Shop, Fruit Juice bar etc.

Education is incomplete if it is not applied into a successful career. At DSCW, Career Guidance and Placement Cell helps students in their career planning, preparation for selection tests and final placements. The placement cell takes out all effort to match students’ career aspirations with the requirements of organizations like Infosys, Wipro, IBM-Daksh, Accenture, CSC Genpact etc.

Students at DSCW are taught to understand their social responsibility and become responsive citizens. The college gives this opportunity to students through clubs like Women Cell, Rotract Club, Red Ribbon Club, Environment Club, Peace Club, Youth Leadership Club. Joining the NCC and NSS help students to become leaders and leave a trail of inspiration to their contemporaries.

As Swami Vivekananda says “Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man”, we strongly believe that at DSCW the perfection already stored in you will be manifested through education which is not imparted but shared.
