Eligibility for Admission to BA-1

• A person who has passed one of the following examinations with english as one of the subjects shall be eligible to join the first years class of BA General degree Courses in college affiliated to this university.

  1. B.A part1(Old Scheme)pre-medical/pre-Engg. /intermediate arts/science/Agriculture examination of Punjab University.
  2. the +2 examination under 10+2+3 system of education of a recognized univercity/board/council.
  3. Any other examination recognized by the university as euivalent to (1) and (2) above.

• A candidates who has been placed under compartment in the +2 examination conducted by a board/body/council/university in india shall be eligible to seek admission to the first year of B.A. courses,provided she fulfils the following conditions:-

  1. She should have been placed in compartment in one subjects only;
  2. She should have obtained at least 20% marks in the subjects in which she had been placed in compartment and
  3. she should have obtained the requisite percentage of marks in the aggregate of the examination as laid down in the relevent regulations.

  Provided that:-

• A candidate joining the BA-1 year class should have obtained at least 33% marks in the aggregate of all the subjects (including the marks obtained by her in the subject of compartment,theory and practical/s taken together)taken up by her at the +2 examination.
• The students who have compartment in +2 class with less than 20% marks be also allowed to be addmitted provided they have obtained 20% or above marks in the supplementary examination upto the last date for admission. They shall be considered for admission to the next higher class provided they were eligible and subject to availability of seats.
  1. The candidates securing less then 20% marks in the subject of compartment of the +2 examination held in march 2010 is eligible to join the first year of the degree courses during the session 2010-11 if shepasses examination or obtains 20% and above marks in the supplementary examination held in august (bi-annual)2010 on or before the last date given in the addmission schedule approved by the punjab university .
  2. 20% marks implies theory and practical taken together.
